RIVER TARA  - "TEAR OF EUROPE"

Who one see this river, always returns.
River of Tara is chalked in the Register of World Natural Heritage as a unique on the planet. Her uniqueness  characteristics are steep banks and forests.TARA word has a double origin. First meaning is on the ancient Indian language and indicates the speed and impetuosity or " rapid river ".  Second origin of the word TARA specifies the name of the Illyrian tribeand, whice are lived on the banks of the river and and was called are AUTARIJAT.

Tara river is a long 149 km. Source is under the mountains in the north of Montenegro. Together with the river of Piva at Scepan fields build river Drinu. She is one of the most important natural boundary of Balkan in many wars.

For centuries, the Tara River  created deepest and most beautiful canyon of Europe. The canyon is the second deepest in the world, after the Colorado canyon. Dept is 82 km, and  the average depth is about 1000 m, and  maximum depth 1300m.

Her beauty is complemented with a handful of karst springs and sparkling waterfalls. Tara river is quiet only in some places. Color of water is green-blue.

This goddess of nature is not enough to describe, should be seen and felt her pulse. Today, the river brings together people who love nature and have a restless spirit looking for adventure..
